No time
time is seemingly frozen still...
...not until I open my eyes will...
...all my frustrations spill over
...not until I open my eyes will...
...all my frustrations spill over
A Girl
A Girl by Ezra Pound
The tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast-
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.
Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast-
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.
Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.
The Road Not Taken
(one of my favorites)
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Bullying: Out of control

read article
Earlier this week I discovered that, Phoebe Prince, a fifteen yr old girl, committed suicide after being continuously bullied at school for three months. Six kids were named and charged with felonies and three face juvenile charges.
Initially, when I heard this I wasn't sure to what extent she was bullied. Decades ago, bullying was a mild temperament, rarely talked about except in films. However, it's nothing compared to how children are being treated today. in addition Phoebe prince had transferred form Ireland so she was in an entirely new to the country and this is how she's welcomed?
Apparently the bullying started after she ended a brief relationship with one of the football players and that's when everyone started to gang up on her. on top of the verbal harassment there was physical abuse involved.
what bothers me the most is that none of the faculty or administration paid any attention to this behavior. some knew about the hazing that went on and did nothing to stop it.
my question is , to what extent should people be socially responsible for each other?? Because to witness something like this happening and then doing nothing about it, is just as bad as committing the crime.
