According to a new study at University of California San Diego, marijuana may stave off damage caused by binge drinking.

"Brain scans were performed on three different groups all ranging in ages between 16 and 19: binge drinkers, binge drinkers who also smoke pot, and those with little drug or drinking experience.

The binge drinkers showed damage in their white matter, yet those who drink and smoke showed damage only in three of eight areas of the brain, only little more than the control group.

In extremely unexpected results, their brains were in substantially better shape in seven areas of the brain over the binge drinkers.

Researchers will continue on whether marijuana somehow stops alcohol from damaging brain cells."

so this weekend was very uneventful>>>>
Last night was supposed to be my last party night in the city ..since school and work will be hectic soon. I had a couple parties lined up for the night. First i was going to hit up my girl at this lounge downtown but tell me how i get there ...im waiting on the line for about 20 minutes when i finally get ot the door..the bouncer grills my ID card and then confiscates it...like WTF... as some of you may know i am 20 and even though i will be of age in a month and five days i have been getting by on my sisters ID...however this one dude felt like being a douche and decided he was going to pick on me that night. He asked me the basic info>>> whens your birthday?

THEN he stared hella long at me and the card...then he had hte nerve ot ask for a credit cared for secondary proof....of ocurse i didnt have anythign to show him but i pulle dout my wallet as if i w stryign to find somethin when he spotted my NYU ID card..so he asked to see that. NOw of coure my a** wasnt htinking and forgot that my firs tname is on the card so he obviously got ht enotion that it wasnt my ID...but he really didnt have to confiscate it. I mean it was a legite ID> Luckily for me ..i have another one of my sisters ID..lol..but still..it was a tad bit embarrassing getting rejected from a lounge... out of all places ...why a lounge?!?!

it started to rain right after so i was getting vex. Because i couldn't see my gurl and now i had to bounce. So i was like forget it i will will just hop to the net spot...tell me homegirl who was supposed to be my right wing..decided to stay in that night so i had to go solo and no one likes going out alone so my night was pretty much deaded after that....but i decided to hit up the next spot because i knew some of my fam was going to be there....as i was heading further downtown....the trains switched schedules due to construction so i had to find another route however at that time the train i was supposed to hop on was closed...on top of all of that..i got stuck on the train for about an hour because of some delay...by the time we to moving again it was already mad l8 so it made no sense even trying...i knew where a couple of other parties were going down but again ..who wants to go out by themselves....

I had feeling i was supposed to stay in that night... but its all good....i still got my back up ID..i just know to avoid that place from now on and keep my NYU card tucked away...llol

On a good note the whole weekend wasn't a waste. I got to see my besties...peanut head and my home gurl Julia (Hoolia)....spent most of the weekend uptown...even got to stay at the Trump Towers...which is by the riverside ...très magnifique..we popped some Rosé and chillaxed...
so it didn't totally suck....

So this is what my living conditions are like. I live in a closet!
This room is half the size of my room at home... ~tear~
I'm disappointed but I will adapt like always. It's just that the transition from a condo to a closet is a bit overwhelming...BUT these are hard times people...and YES those are bunk beds...I am a grown woman sleeping on a bunk bed her senior year of college>>> SMH
Luckily I got here before my roommate and got to chose my bed and my desk...THIS is a big deal because the last three years I would always show to late and end up with the left overs BUT NOT THIS TIME...oh yes!!!!
I woke extra early packed and got my a** over here in time to get the bottom bunk....chea!!!

UPDATE

Today is the first day at my new job officially. I do the videography for his sweepstakes company and today I am going solo. I spent most of last weekend training but I think I'm ready. I am making it sound harder than it is but I still have jitters. Wish me luck!!

After her rivals accused her of being a man, Semenya was asked by the IAAF, the world governing body for track and field, to undergo an exhaustive gender test by a team comprised of a gynecologist, endocrinologist, internal medicine expert, an expert on gender and a psychologist. he IAAF is now trying to determine whether Semenya's abnormally high testosterone levels are due to doping or to her being naturally born more biologically male than female. So far, there's no suggestion Semenya has ever used performance-enhancing drugs.

However, Caster's association with Dr. Ekkart Arbeit, the former East German doping expert, has fueled suspicions of cheating. And doctors say Semenya's testosterone levels are suspicious.

"Athletes' [testosterone] levels are usually not high," Dr. Michael Elstein, an expert in hormone therapy tells the Daily Telegraph. "If anything, they actually may be low because of the stress of competition and release of cortisol, which is a stress hormone and can push testosterone down."

Adds Elstein: "It does not point to her being a male, but it does point to her advancing her performance with testosterone. The question is whether the testosterone is naturally occurring or introduced...that's what the IAAF needs to determine.''

Meanwhile, Caster's family insists she is female. “She is my little girl," says her dad, Jacob Semenya. "I raised her and I have never doubted her gender. She is a woman and I can repeat that a million times.”]

Last weekend was CRAZZZY.
Specifiaclly Saturday...why?? because it was my girls last night with my 2 European mami's and we went hard. We spent the day shopping, trying new cuisine at Zoma (in Harlem) an Ethiopian restaurant), meeting new people (cute people) and being goofy ~~GooD times. The best part was later that night when we hit up club Mansion (on 28th street ?/dont rememebr) and right when we arrive guess who steps out this tinted blaCK SUV...????... Freaking RIHANNA!!!!!
she hopped out and into the club with the quickness. I dont think anyone knew where she was becuase there was no Paps around which was a good look but it would have been fly to see her pics up on theybf.com page. Unfortunately i couldnt snag a pic myslef becasue again..she was in and out with the quickness. It was dope though. all night people were poppin bottles with the sparkelers on top so it lit up the rooms. There were women in HOTT bikini's dancing around the club (they were getting it in ALL night). It was just crazy. Me and my girl got our drank on, danced all night going back and forth from the Hip Hop room and the House room (both were poppin). There were so many pretty people in that place that night. Pretty girls>>>cute guys (copped some #'s)~~~We didn't leave til' about 5 am. (mind u I live in queens so it was a journey to get back home~~got home like 7am).

Sunday I had to say goodbye to one of them who flew all the way back to Germany. Today my other girl left to head back to school in London. Even though I have my room back its still lonely without them; their like my sisters. :) LUV u Lady E and Queen M

The rest of the day I spent in mid town at work and with my home slice Julia (Hoolia), caught up, had pizza, watched Silence of the Lambs (great movie).

Good times were had all around!

This week is my last week at my internship and i will miss it but its about that time..i head back to school this Sunday ..back to the city life (never really left)....then i start my new internship (@ the UN) and my new job (soon to be Jobs if everything goes my way)...Ahhh
summer was good to me but i know this semester is going to be dope. Its my senior year~~~I'm graduating ~~doing big things~~getting my priorities straight~~ and just having fun....cant go wrong right?!?!

So SKINS is a very popular English TV show and its a drama about teen life. Its really explicit, gritty, and to the point and there a lot of skin, sex, drugs, cursing, etc. NOW according to Perez Hilton MTV wants to make a US version of the show. Not a good idea! Unless it was premiering on a cable channel there's no way the FCC will allow all that gritty material on regular programming. So its definitely going to be WACK! You cant compromise being REAL and when you fabricate real drama it looks horrible and generic. I don't want to judge too early but I cant see it going very far.

Okay...so my girl from Thailand shared this lovely and Hilarious story with me yesterday with her first experience with a black man. LOL

She had gone to NC last week and met this dude who was cute and charming and she knew that something was going to happen between them . So....when that time did come or was about to she was panicking. Why you ask? well she said that all she could think about was the stereotype that black men were well-endowed and she thought he was going to BREAK her off ..literally...LMAO.... if only u could have seen her expression of terror on her face....lol

of course when it came down to doing the deed she discovered he wasnt going to do much damage..lol...but her mini panic attack admist the situation had me dying.....and rolling on the floor...

August Rush

This month has been crazy. Both my friends form HS came to visit. One of them is from Thailand but lives in London and the other one is from Germany. We all went to the same HS (The Stony Brook School: college prep school) and we have made it priority to see each other annually. So every year they come in August or late July to kick it with me. I love having them here; there's never a dull moment. I also have had the privilege of seeing all my peoples form HS who i haven't seen all year. So these last couple of weekends i have been running around in every borough of NY chilling with them.

August has also brought me some great opportunities. All summer I have been job hunting and searching for internships. I went to a couple interviews but i finally found one that stuck. I got this awesome internship at the UN and i'm working on getting a paid job on campus. I have two interviews tomorrow for paid jobs I desperately need. My pockets are aching right now and i have been spending money i don't have. That soon will change though.
I'm heading back to school in about three weeks and i'm hyped to be back in the city. Who doesn't love NYC? I miss the people, the atmosphere, the busy streets, the LIVE parties, good eats, and etc.

Queens can be really boring sometimes...scratch that. ..its boring ALL the time. Especially if you don't have a car theres not much you can do. I know it sucks not having a car. I'm always in the city so i don't Need to drive but I should get my license just to have it.
So summer is coming to and end and before it does i want to go to FL to see my significant other but again my pockets are starving. Someone call the doctor my wallets anorexic!!! lol

I guess im going to have to find scrapes where ever i can and maybe tap into the bank of Daddy...so sad..i h8 asking for money but its been hard times.... :/
i cant w8 to be back on my independent status but for now it cant hurt to ask for help...

This is an AMAZING restaurant.
My friends and Iwent there last night.
It's Italian cuisuine with a Japaenese influence.
The food and the service was incredible.
One of the best eating experiences i have had in a while.

Antipasta/Appetizers:

Tortino de Granchio: crab meat, avacodo, green apples, Yukon gold potatoes, basil aoili, with grapefruit jelly, daikon radishes and chayote>>very delicious, fishy, light, full of taste!!!

Main course(s)

Spaghetti ai Ricci de Mare: spaghettie, sea urchin, serrano peppers, fresh tomoatoes, and basil in galric oil>>>this dish was delicious; it was very creamy with a hint of spice.
Penne al salsiccia: penne, sausgae, fresh tomoatoes, spicy tomatoe sauce>>this had the right a mount of spice without the spice overpowering the flavor
Pappardelle alla Sicilliana: homemade papparodelle, with eggplant, basil, fresh tomatoes in tapenade sauce>> very light, full of great vegetables; not oily but buttery
Linguine all Pescatore: Linguine witrh clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, and sea scallops>>succulent sea food, spicy flavor, great sauce to sea food ratio

FOR DESERT:
we shared.....
the flan:baked cream caramel with fresh fruit and whipped cream
crepe con mela:crepe filled with vanilla gelato apple compote, earl grey jelly, sliced almonds
cheesecake: served with whipped cream and fresh fruit

that topped off with a cappachino and we were good to go...

the prices were reasonable and we gave our well deserving waiter a big tip...i would recommend this place to everyone..so tell a Friend

well...Sarah Stokes who was originally apart of the cast was she was arrested on Aug. 2nd for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon on her manager/hubby, Tony.

According to TMZ:
Sara stormed out of the house after arguing with husband Tony — she tripped, fell down and accused him of doing it. She hurt her head in the fall — grabbed a knife and stabbed Tony in the arm — while their 3 kids watched.

Her lawyer claimed:

Sara and Tony have a very passionate and loving relationship that on August 2, while having an evening of fun, she slipped and fell, hitting her head heavily on the ground and somehow in the process of helping her Tony got injured.”

Bad Mood

Today I have been in a bit of a funk. Its just been one of those days. I had to get up early to head to my other job at my mothers day care.kids are stressful as it is. They can be fun and loving one moment then the next they will drive you craaaazzzzzyyy and today they were just too EXTRA for my liking... On top of everything I haven't been motivated really to go to work or do anything. I have an unpaid internship during the first half of the week then I work at the day care in the second half. Being employed by a family member can get complicated and its frustrating because I don't get a check regularly like the rest of the staffs does because well she's my mother and she pays me as she pleases. I mean week after week, and I'm not seeing no green.. :/ It really takes a toll on my pockets....

Have any of you ever worked for a family member or is currently in an unpaid internship ??? If so please share with me your experiences and how you got through it!!! k thanx :P
